Luxurious Shea Butter
FIVE YEARS AGO, I decided to explore the world of natural artisan soapmaking. After testing and experimenting I perfected my recipe and shared my natural soaps with family, friends, and neighbors. Then I started getting inquiries and those who tried my soaps were very happy with how their skin felt using a natural skincare product as opposed to using a commercial soap or shower gel. Today I continue to make soaps in small batches using high quality ingredients.
Quality matters: Most soap bars sold on the market today contain various chemicals such as Parabens, Sulfates, and Triclosan. These ingredients can trigger allergies, disrupt hormones, and even increase the risk of some types of allergies and cancers. The glycerine from commercial soaps is removed and used in other products. By contrast natural handmade soaps contain natural oils that are good for your skin. You will see what I mean once you try using my soaps.
Warmly,
Amy xoxo
Coconut oil: Coconut oil is made by pressing fresh coconut meat or dried coconut meat called copra. When used in soap, coconut oil hardens the soap bars and produces large size bubbles. It is also known to be cleansing.
Olive Oil: Olive oil is typically made through a process that involves harvesting ripe olives from olive trees and then crushing them to extract the oil. When used in soap, olive oil moisturizes the skin while creating a creamy lather.
Shea Butter: It makes the soap super creamy and moisturizing. It is comprised of approximately 6% Linoleic, 48% Oleic, 5% Palmitic, and 40% Stearic fatty acids. These fatty acids will increase the hardness of the soap, increase the lather stability, and will increase the lifespan. It has healing properties, because it contains healthy fats that help the skin regenerate and heal, even improve the look of scars.
Castor Oil: This oil enhances the soap’s lather, creating a luxurious texture, and provides deep cleansing by lifting dirt and impurities. With its anti-inflammatory properties it soothes irritated skin and eczema. Not only known for its antimicrobial properties but also for its potential anti-aging benefits, castor oil promotes the production of elastin and collagen, helping to delay the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.
Avocado Oil: this oil hydrates your skin from within and provides deep moisturization. Avocado oil can treat dry and flaky skin, accelerate wound healing and reduce skin aging signs.
Coconut Milk: Rich in medium-chain fatty acids; this can smooth skin cells and adds a nice texture to the soap.
Kaolin Clay: Is a mild clay which is rich in silica. It absorbs impurities from the skin.
Rose Clay: Rose clay acts as a gentle exfoliant, removing dead skin cells and impurities, promoting a smoother and more radiant complexion.
Purple Brazilian Clay: Natural mineral used to color soaps, it also absorbs excess oil.
Mica: these are minerals that allow me to create colorful soap bars and are visually pleasant to look at and enjoy.
